The methyl silicone fluids are liquid organic silicone polymers, including inorganic elements (Si-O bond, as in quartz, glass or sand) and inorganic elements (methyl groups) in one particle. This gives the silicone oils special usage properties.
They are produced within the viscosity range of 10 cSt to 10000 cSt, in the normalised series of 10, 20, 50, 100, 250, 300, 350, 500, 1000, 2000, 3000, 5000, 10000. At customer’s request intermediate viscosity oils may be produced.
Example: Polsil OM 300 means methyl silicone oil of the viscosity of 300 cSt at the temperature of 250C.
Separating agents
A surface covered with methyl silicone oil reflects anti-adhesive properties, while the thin layer of oil remaining on it is resistant to high temperature. Oil may be sprayed both in the form of several-percent solution and non-diluted. In rubber processing also water emulsion of silicone oils are used (Polsil E), which are easy to dilute and apply.
Sleeping agents
A layer of methyl silicone oil applied on plastics, rubber, plastic threads cause friction decrease.
Hydraulic oils
Thanks to the specific rheological characteristics, comparatively small change of viscosity in a broad range of temperatures, and considerable compressibility, methyl silicone oils are used in hydraulic automation systems, in any type of vibration absorbers and dampers, end stops, etc.
Fluids to heat-exchangers
High heat resistance of silicone oils makes it possible to use them as heating and cooling media in various types of constructions. In laboratory conditions they are applied in thermostats, heating baths, manometers and loop water seals. Silicone oil is filled in the casings of temperature detectors, oil coats of heating equipment, etc.
Liquid dielectrics
Perfect dielectric properties of silicone oils enable their application in various types of electric equipment.
Foam suppressors
Clean silicone oils are applied as foam suppressors in waterless systems that foam when heated in the presence of trace quantities of water. Also when foaming substances are filled in packaging, silicone oils are added or the internal surfaces of the packaging are coated with thin layers of the oils. In many cases perfect results are achieved by application of the silicone oils water emulsions, being the typical foam suppressing agents in water systems.
Cosmetics additives
Thanks to the high aging resistance under the influence of weather conditions and resistance to micro-organisms and moulds, methyl silicone oils are perfect vehicles for various ointments and creams. Used as additives, they improve the properties of cosmetics or enhance the activity of various protective creams, etc.
Additives to pastes and polishes
Shoe polishes and floor polishes, car-body creams, polishes for furniture and artificial-skin upholstery polishes that include silicone oils provide the surfaces with permanent shine, water-repellent properties and smooth touch.
Packaging
POLSIL OM is packed in metal or plastic packaging of the capacity of 1, 5, 30, 200 and 1000 litres.
Storage
Store in original, tightly closed packaging, in dry and airy storage rooms, at the temperature below +40 0C. Guarantee period for POLSIL OM oils – 24 months of the date of production.
